LFW #DAY1 and My Interning with Bora Aksu AW 13!

MY EXPERIENCE AT LONDON FASHION WEEK 2013

It's Valentines Day and I took trip out of Singleville
by grabbing my finest clobber and dragging myself all the way down to London to FINAAAALLLY work with famous Turkish designer, Bora Aksu.

With a little guidance from my good friend Jessica (trying my best to tube dodge) I was en'route to the biggest event of the year,
Somerset House!

After a quick warm brew to calm the nerves at the local Cafe Nero I approached my destination!
I IMMEDIATLY FELT LIKE I WAS FINALLY AT HOME WITH MYSELF!

What a beautiful day!
And yet so many wonderful individuals oozing with originality and interesting collaborations... I couldn't take my eyes off everyone...
The essence of a tight family of budding Fashionista's coming together from different areas of the world to simply feast their eyes on new inspirations and growing designers
- It was truely FANTASTIC!

I was a little early to begin my task for the day, so I took the opportunity to sit back, people watch and do a spot of Networking (always make time to Network readers).
You'd be SURPRISED at the amount of people actually wanting to have a chat and get to understand you as an individual!
Slight shock to the system ladies...

I was interviewed by various photographers, bloggers and also LONDON| TIME OUT|.
Whilst asking to take a few few images on my trusty Canon, you'd be quite surprised at how many people turned round and asked to take yours!?

"Here's a little taster on what the atmosphere was like during day 1 at Somerset House..."

Whilst wandering indoors and nosy'ing at the exhibitions at hand,
I recognized a few London based bloggers such as
@Londonlipsgloss and vice-versa!

...And a few lovely ladies asked if I was also a blogger?!,
whilst approaching towards the exit, and urged to keep in touch!
-what a lovely LOVELY day 1 of LFW!-

Here we have some of MY best dressed features at STYLISH Somerset that eve...

AND we have MORE on-trend victims.
So much individuality oozed' the area that my poor Canon just couldn't cope!
-But you get the idea my lovely's.

GUYS.
I EVEN GOT TO SEE QUITE A FEW MEMBERS OF MY FAVE
PROGRAM- "MADE IN CHELSEA"...
Arggggggggggh!- yes I just screamed, yes I did that on the day.

And NOT forgetting Pandamonia's grand entrance,
The outrageous of the lot!

And last but not least myself and the other interns also got up close and
personal with the man himself, Bora Aksu...

The day couldn't have gone any better!
I met new lovely interns, networked, gained experience in work and just took on board an amazing opportunity to visit the biggest event of the year...
I would deffo volunteer again!

-What a fantastic icing to a creative year so far!-

FASHION WEEK FREEBIES AND OXFORD ST HAUL.

LONDON FASHION WEEK CALLED and I had to pack vital necessities to make sure I looked the part.

WHAT THE HECK DO I WEAR!?
(Screaming inside...)

I needed to make sure I accessorized to the max as my intern role insisted that all interns should wear black and as I usually wear colourful ensembles this was proving difficult.

I made sure I packed the correct pieces I wanted to try bond on the day of role.
I opted for a navy fur snood to team with my primary blue bowler hat.

Here's a snippet of what I packed for the occasion...

I focused on shirts and dresses with sharp collars, my endless collection of glitter socks and sophisticated lengths.

Annnnd how could I forget my endless collection of Jewelry.
Now this took a while to decide my lovelies... If you don't know me personally then you should learn that I HAVE A RIDICULOUS PASSION FOR HIGH ST JEWELRY!!!

Just one of many overflowing Jewelry boxes.

I focused on interesting shapes, ear cuffs, OTT lengths and handmade tikka tikka's.
THE BIGGER. THE BETTER LADIES.

THE AFTERMATH!

THATS RIGHT LADIES!
I got well and truly SPOILT and only on #Day1
muhahahahahahhaa!

I was LOVING my Bora gift bag of juicy beauty treats, Eylure 65 years edition AND Katy Perry lashes along with Pop chips to munch on for dinner, Dr Lipp Original nipple balm for lips, KMS California free shape quick blow dry AND Hot Flex spray PLUS so much more!

I also got to keep my Bora Intern top which was quite sweet as a little souvenir of the day!

After the event, myself and the other interns ventured on the tube to Hyde Park and Oxford Street to indulge in a obvious dash of shopping.

I bumped into some new found love and HAD to purchase
 THESE beauties!

I really wanted some new Flatforms as my pair of trusty River I' Silver lace ups were becoming a little over-worn. I wanted something fresh... and these Suede Jasmine, buckled trim babies just HAD to be mine!

Check out the cute packaging also girls! and my free badges! Advertising the new J.W.Anderson range launch.

One badge refers to being "Cute as a Button" - So cute!
I think I'm guna add these to my work tote.

To accompany my new shoes I also purchased a few pairs of cotton pastel pop socks with lace trim to add a feminine touch to any outfit day or night.
and last but not least I am REEEEAAALY DIGGIN' Roll neck bodycons at the moment!
So another purchase was on the cards!
Here's me in my new checkered number.

Oh and I had to buy myself a new MAC number right?
RIGHT! ;)

SO ladies which lucky ones indulged in LFW this weekend?
What's your favourite shopping destination?

Also I'll be sharing my LFW experience with you beauts tomorrow, illlustrating Somerset Street Style and what I got up to during my role for the day!

On Monday I nipped to the shop I'm currently interning for Mad Elizabeth (HQ) to see the girls Heather and Claire. I've not been able to reach the shop for a good while due to Sn'issue's (snow issues) - Claire's humour ladies and gents ;)

TIME TO SPILL THE BEANS.

THE CAT IS OFFICIALLY OUT THE BAG!
I CAN'T KEEP IT IN ANY LONGER!
It's time to stop be a lazy blogger and reveal my exciting new opportunity.

I GOT THE JOB! WAAAAHOOOO!
Three cheers for me right? For all you Clutter Up addict's you will have previously seen a recent post about London Fashion Week. Well to my surprise I received an email earlier last week providing the opportunity to help assist Bora Aksu's Friday 15th February catwalk collection show!

Email. after email, I hoped and hoped for an opportunity like this and couldn't believe my spectacles when I received feedback on such a highly respected and talented designer. The tasks involved in the email are as followed...

-This is for PR/Production show interns, front of house, backstage media and celebs - not dressing. -

-This is for the onschedule Bora Aksu show. -

-This will be held at the BFC showspace tent in the grounds of Somerset House on Friday 15th Feb. The show time is 11am. -

-You would be assisting the inhouse PR team and the external PR agency, Goodley PR. You would be responsible for helping to set front of house and seating press, buyers, VIP''s and celebrities or backstage media control. -

WHAT AN AMAZING RESPONSE!!!!!!!!!?!

Not only will I be thrown in the deep end of journalists  budding fashionista's and the intrigued public, BUT I WILL BE DEALING WITH CELEBRITIES!? What is MY LIFE!?

I am so so nervous but yet so excited to be nipping down to my favourite city and spending some quality time with my Uni best friends who are also currently interning in the area and event itself.

Here's some images of Bora's last collection of the S/S '13 season of London Fashion Week back in '12.

Collaborating crowns, printed tights and flowing frocks, his work is just magnificent...
I can'not wait to feast my eyes on his new collection pieces!

Perhaps a fresh FULL outfit and spending money for a cheeky trip to Oxford St is on the cards my lovelies! I need to be looking tip to the top.

I will keep you all posted on my haul and must haves...

 HOWEVER,
for now I really didn't think I'd be saying this this year but I can'not WAIT till VDAY <3 .="">

So well and truly blessed for all the opportunities I'm receiving lately!

Are YOU excited for LFW?
Who's collections are you intrigued to see???

SNOW AWAY/COLD PLAY.

SO SORRY,
for the delays in posting girls!
The weather has depressed me a little and my creative flow has flopped!

ITS BEEN FULL ON YETI WEATHER OUT THERE!
and with great regret of last weekend's 3 am walk home through Bradford Narnia, I've been such a lazy lady with my ridiculous amounts of tomato soups and jugs of tea's!

Although the snow has melted and the grass is looking greener ladies make sure you wrap it up its SWEATER WEATHER again!

Combine your layers with body warmers, collars, mittens, faux fur coats and Russian hats. PREPARE yourself with these on trend key pieces girls!

I've also got lots to talk about inc. my shock interning news and new opportunities coming soon tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled I am SO EXCITED to fill you all in!

Remember to stay cool lovelies.
;)
